type of work. A humorous and tongue in cheek
look at the changes wrought in the new dad’s
life by the introduction of a new cast member
in his life.

glassworks artist Richard Samuel reads this piece
of poetry, Emiko
Omori, captures the beauty of the reader’s
art and the poem on film.
LET’S COLLABORATE (TRT 5:00) Christa Conforti’s
stop-motion animated story of what happens when two monkeys
try to work together on a project.
RIZZOLI:
Yield to Total Elation (TRT 10:00) An affectionate portrait
by Bernal residents Sharon
Wood and Pat Ferrero of
Achilles (A.G.) Rizzoli, by day a draftsman, by night
a designer of fantastical, and highly detailed architectural
renderings, in grand Beaux Arts style. Many of his building
designs were symbolic representations of his family.
Rizzoli lived for many years until his death in 1958
on Alabama Street on Bernal Hill, where he installed
an exposition of his designs called Y.T.T.E. for
" Yield To Total Elation."
SING ALONG SAN FRANCISCO (TRT: 5:00) Clear your throats
and follow the bouncing ball as Georgina Corzine, director,
and Jenni Olson and Scott Noble co-producers take you on
a tour of vintage SanFrancisco accompanied by Jeannette
McDonald's rendition of "San Francisco.' Feel free

KNOW I’M NOT ALONE: A Musician’s
Journey Through War in the Middle East (TRT 70:00)
Michael Franti, musician activist, lead of Spearhead
and first time filmmaker, traveled to Iraq, Israel
and Palestine in 2004 shortly after the fall of Baghdad
to see for himself the effect of the war on Iraqi
civilians and culture and on the troops sent there
to carry out US policy. By extension, he then proceeds
to Palestine and Israel to observe the potential
long-term effects of occupation on both the occupied
and the occupier.

MAGIC TRICK (TRT 4:00) Bernal resident Scott Kravitz started
out as a wildlife biologist, but decided he liked animating
wild things on film better. As a result, he’s worked
on such features as “The Matrix Revolution,” “Scooby
Doo 2,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Yet
he manages to produce his own animated pieces as well.
Here is one.
LEMONS (TRT 7:00) Stephen Berke’s object
lesson in knowing how to sell your product.
AN
INVITATION TO POETRY: The lower leaves of the trees
by Sone no Yoshitada (TRT 5:00) Middle school student
Kiyoshi Houston reads this poem as translated in English
and as written in Japanese and reveals the beauty of
both.
LARRYLANDIA (TRT
17:00) Karim Scarlata, Bernal native, follows a young
Mission district/Bernal Heights resident through the
neighborhood as he struggles with becoming the “eagle
warrior” he envisions himself to be. Along the
way, he grapples with love, the legacy of colonialism,
the metaphysics of basketball, and what one must do
in life to make relationships work.
HUBERT’S
BRAIN (TRT 17:00) The first computer-generated
animated film produced by the members of Wild Brain,
Inc., on which Jeff Fino, Bernal resident, served as
Executive Producer. Hubert Stinkler, a roly-poly boy
genius is always having to contend with the class bully.
All he wants is to have a friend to rely on. On a field
trip to the natural science museum he makes a remarkable
discovery and a new friend. Soon events spiral our
of control and in the end Hubert finds that he’ll
do almost anything to protect his new friend.

Jenni Olson and Scott Noble co-producers take you on a tour
of vintage SanFrancisco accompanied by Jeannette McDonald's

BOLERIUM (TRT
23:00) Keary and Nathan Kensinge capture a "day-in-the-life" at
one of America's most important independent bookstores "Bolerium
Books” run from a hidden location in the heart
of San Francisco's immigrant/radical Mission District.
This 23-minute portrait is a humorous exploration of
this unique bookstore, its diverse staff and the wild
array of customers who frequent its shelves.
RIPE
FOR CHANGE (TRT 32:00) This fascinating documentary Produced
by Jed Riffe and Directed by Emiko
Omori explores the intersection of food and politics
in California over the last 30 years.

DOG CARTOON (TRT 5:00) Dog finds bone, dog loses bone, dog “googles” bone.
Another animated short by Wild Brain, Inc. (see Sept. 16
listing “Hubert’s Brain”)
FAMILY PORTRAIT (TRT 5:00) A family comes apart as it
sits in front of the camera. Shot in pixilation by animator,
Scott Kravitz, in which live actors are treated like
objects to be animated. The filmmaker's own family willingly
held still for the process of making the film.
PIE
FIGHT (TRT 7:00) Documentarian Sam Green, revisits
an ‘historical’ confrontation that
occurred in San Francisco a while back.
SOMETIMES MY FEET GO NUMB ( TRT 5:00) Lourdes Portillo
produced this short visual 'poem' depicting a man with
AIDS and his daily struggle with the disease, the medications,
the loss of friends and his perseverance in going on.
BOX OF SHELLS (TRT 10:00) CCA graduate Nick Evans
creates an old world tale using a mixture of video, photography
and animation. Original music by Kay Potthoff accompanies
the “action” in the piece.

5:00) Sylvia Plath's poem is inspiration for photographer
Seph Rodney.
WRONG
BATHROOM (TRT 9:00) Shani Heckman’s humorous,
yet thought provoking look at the “unmentionable” topic
of wash closet politics as seen by those who don’t
necessarily conform to the rimage projected by the
round-headed icons on the doors of public toilets.
